Australians of all ages love to travel. We are a wealthy and curious nation and we love to party. Increased wages and decreased airfares mean we can travel further, for longer and more often.
This freedom can carry additional risks however. A sense of adventure can mean we take risks we wouldn’t have at home. Rates of HIV infection among travellers, expats and FIFO workers have been rising for a number of years. The WA AIDS Council works to remind travellers of the risks and provide strategies to stay safe.
