Now More Than Ever

Now more than ever is a time to believe in the elimination of HIV in Australia. Never before have we had access to science, technology and tools to achieve something that until recently looked stubbornly unattainable.

The Western Australian AIDS Council (WAAC) is a community not-for-profit organisation that has led the Western Australian community in minimising the social and personal impacts, and the transmission of HIV. Over almost 30 years, we have innovated, evolved and adapted to changes in the epidemic, and progressively expanded our focus to encompass broader sexual health and blood-borne virus issues that affect our community.

Our Mission

To minimise the impact and further transmission of HIV, other blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections. To reduce social, legal and policy barriers which prevent access to health information and effective support and prevention services.

WA AIDS Council would like to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of this country throughout Australia, and their strength, resilience and connection to land and community. In particular, the WA AIDS Council would like to acknowledge the Wadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the traditional custodians of the land in which our office is located.
